WPJA Achievements
The Wedding Photojournalist Association proudly recognizes the accomplishments and creative excellence of Ben Tang. The following awards have been earned by Ben from the WPJA. These achievements come with great merit considering the high level of competition that a member faces in the contests. Stringent standards are upheld throughout the contests, standards equivalent to those of professional working photojournalists.
2008 Q2 17th Place - Creative Portrait
JUDGES COMMENTS: Regal and magical are words that come to mind here. The photographer has done a great job finding a setting and lighting it well for strong dramatic effect. It allows us to see the bride as strong and independent and like a goddess in her gown draped off of the boulder she is perched on.
2008 Q1 11th Place - Ceremony
JUDGES COMMENTS: What makes this image are all of the people enjoying the moment themselves. Good on the photographer to keep all of the elements compressed with a longer lens. A wide lens here would have spread everything out too much.
